I recently read a paper by Taleb about doing science efficiently and effectively and I was wondering if there other predecessors to his work which more or less express the same things(since Taleb seems to have a tendency to Talebanize knowledge from elsewere reducing it to his own theoretical constructions)

$\begingroup$ They have histories of the scientific method from Aristotle's Organon forward in standard encyclopedias, e.g. SEP. But luckily few shared Taleb's ideas of what is efficient in science. $\endgroup$ – Conifold Nov 1 '20 at 3:57
